Privacy Policy

Otherword is a reading and investigation-fiction app published by NoCompileLab. The app does not require an account and does not use advertising, advertising identifiers or third-party analytics.

Reading data

Your reading position, opened case files, completed cases, saved cases and reading preferences are stored locally on your device. Otherword does not routinely upload this reading history. If you permit an open-ended online companion reply, that request includes the current reading point and identifiers for files you have opened in the active case so the reply stays within material you have reached.

Online companion

Authored Tips and story messages work without sending your writing to an AI service. Before Otherword sends your first open-ended companion message online, the app asks for your permission and identifies Cloudflare Workers AI as the third-party processor.

If you choose to continue, the text you type, up to eight recent messages, the current case identifier, your current reading point and identifiers for case material you have opened are sent securely through Otherword’s Cloudflare service to Cloudflare Workers AI to prepare that reply. This material is used to provide and secure the requested companion response. Otherword does not use it for advertising, build an advertising profile from it or deliberately retain ordinary conversation transcripts.

You may decline and keep using authored replies, or disable online companion processing later in Settings. Declining does not affect reading, evidence, progression, downloads or membership access.

Reported replies

If you deliberately choose “Report reply,” the reported companion text and case identifier are retained for up to 90 days so Otherword can review and improve safety. The report contains no account identifier because Otherword has no accounts.

Technical data

Cloudflare necessarily processes network information such as an IP address to deliver and protect the service, including short-window abuse prevention. Otherword does not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Subscriptions

Apple or Google processes payment and subscription status. Otherword receives the platform entitlement needed to unlock the library but does not receive or retain your card or bank details. Downloaded cases remain on the device, but paid cases require a current verified entitlement.

Children

Otherword is written for a mature general audience and is not directed to children.

Your choices

You can read installed cases offline, use authored companion material without online AI processing, and change the online companion choice in Settings. Avoid including personal information in companion messages. Removing the app deletes locally stored reading and downloaded-case data.
